Just when i thought things were going to go well for me, i discovered a bad news! As i’ve mentioned, the screen of my laptop has been acting up kinda funny recently and the lines has been appearing more frequently these few days. Those lines have been there since Dec 2006 and since i joined the Jumpstart Workshop. Tofu you remember seeing them dun ya? Sob then as the days went by more lines started to show and there’s now 2 white patches making their stay permanent. OMG! im starting to feel afraid that there might be some major problem with my lappy.

So i called up Toshiba yesterday to check on the possible problem and the charges involved if i really need to send for repair. i guess it’s unevitable that i will have to send it. the only thing now is how much do i need to pay? the cost is really a concern and when the technical helpdesk guy told me he suspect it is a LCD problem i was shocked! cos i somehow guessed how much it might cost me! then the next thing he said was the ultimate! it will cost $1,500 to $1,600 to replace the whole LCD screen! OMG!!! and what’s more i still gotta pay a stupid service charge which is $100 for their service!!! Hell!!!

Then i was dumbfounded and i totally dun believe it! the only consolation was that he suggested me bringing my laptop in for an investigation which will be free (it should be if they are going to charge me major!) it might be a graphics card problem too and if so i could get away from paying only $200-$300 bucks to fix the fault. oh please please have mercy on my pocket!

This weekend i shall backup all my data and next week i will no choice but to bring it in for check. anyone out there able to help me instead? technical people i need help! sob sob. …… now i really know how detrimental the effects are on people running an online business. i feel handicapped already! should i buy a new laptop if the charges are really high? but this laptop is so good and powerful and it has only been nearly 2 years old! i really can’t bear to abandon it due to sentimental reasons……..
